fuji finepix s1000 help!!!! imges are too dark in sunlight...

Love this camera its perfect for me the only thing is i went to the south of france recently and it was my first time using it on a sunny day and the images are terrible. some literally turned out pitch black on a day when it was beautiful and sunny! im really pi55ed off as it ruined a lot of good shots. I tried it on beach mode/snowy mode and auto as well as just tinkering around and nothin seemed to work.. any suggestions OTHER than take it back?? thankyou x

The first thing to ask I guess and without being sarcastic is have you read the manual ?

Secondly have you been able to take any normal photo's since it went "faulty" ?

Yeah, upload a photo to t'interweb using some file host that won't alter the file in any way. That way, we can look at the EXIF data, which is the details about how the shot was taken, and work out why it went wrong, and what can be done about it next time.

    take the lens cover off

erm.. firstly you mb should read your manual to sort some things...(below)

could be for a few reasons, to do with the cameras setting.. specifically, the flash can sometimes get in the way and spoil photos...but its mb the exposure thats set wrong, and this can dramatically change your photos..i think your camera can be fooled sometimes and just takes practice i guess. As you were taking pix on a sunny day this is all likely.. so if u look in your manual about the exposure settings this should help you.

All the exposure is, is the amount of light thats allowed through when taking the picture..the aperture and shutter speed are what you should look into!

I hope its abit clear  been a while since i messed properly...

if your struggling to find the manual ive found it! ]clicky i hope this helps! (for a start anyway)

if that doesnt help post again, and i will try to help properly!!.. but i doubt your camera is faulty. *fingers crossed anyway*
