Go to a large supermarket, buy £5 worth of small packets of sweets, sell them for a profit, & repeat.

its a very good idea but she is only 8 and quite small for her age and i think it would end up with me doing all the washing lol

How long do you have to do it?

Would suggest buying stuff, putting it together and selling finished product. e.g. -
Cakes
Plants (quick growing seeds and pots)
Make soup and sell it at any after school sports events etc - most parents will be glad of a hot cup of soup when standing in cold watching kids playing football

Ask school if you can do a movie night after school, put a film (someone already owns) on in school hall and sell cheap drinks and popcorn - £1 a ticket to the movie + cost of refreshments

we have till the end of the month to raise as much as possible (each child ( 6 of them) have to do there own thing )

i love the idea of a movie night, im going to speak to the school about that im sure they will approve will have to have a look around at offers on drinks and snacks as they only have £5 to start with

I usually make trays of Scottish tablet for the school fete - wrap them in florist cellophane with curling ribbon to make it look more expensive and people always buy them no matter the price!

]Juice + ]Popcorn

^ That sort of thing for snacks (try and go for no added sugar because school probably have healthy eating policys!) could also make and serve cakes at same time (everyone can have treat every now and then lol!)

Could just do squash and make your own popcorn as popping corn is very cheap and goes a long way! Also could have a donation box to make a bit extra ;-)

thanx both repped added to all so far keep them coming:thumbsup:

Since they are raising money for orphanage, get your daughter to stand up in front of class and say about how these children dont have lots of toys etc and how if every child in the class could donate 1 toy, since they have lots, they could be sold and it would help these children.

Help her do a letter and print it out for kids to take home to parents

Then sell the toys at car boot sale. Hopefully most kids would bring something in, and some parents may look at it as a good time to have a sort out (could put on bottom of letter, all other donations appreciated). Would be good way of incoporating the reason they are raising the money

Parents may prefer this to being asked for money directly (for cakes, raffles, movie night etc) as money may be tight but I am sure there is a toy in the house that the child has outgrown.

And not spending a penny to start with!

Go to the supermarket which has the best deal on cans of coke (i.e bogof's) and then pick a (hopefully) hot sunday and sell them for 80p a can at a car boot sale
Did that myself and made a few hundred quid (although spent more than a fiver to begin with).
For example:

well the fiver would need to go to paying for the spot at the car boot sale...
