i dunno why peeps kick up such a fuss over animals.

Its a nomadic way of life living on the harsh terrain of Asia's bleak and bitter mountain ranges, population beyond 1 billion, and you've one way to live and to feed your family. I'm not condoning the methods but its another culture entirely and these threads about provoking other cultures to conform 'our western' ideals and beliefs are narrow and closed minded to say the least. In the world today we still have tribes that carry on living the way they have done for 1000s of years and it could be easily said their treatment of animals is awful too. But I know, no-one will want to destroy or 'educate' a primitive culture that's a National Geographic Photographer's dream come true.

Stop a need for the fur and maybe this will stop, its still a result of poverty none the less.

We're not World Police.

I am NO animal rights person in any way But That is no nomadic way of life that is just sick, those animals are still alive and perfectly alert after they have skinned them ALIVE. there is no excuse for that, anyone of those "people !!!" could of hit them over them head "hard" and killed them almost instantly, instead of smashing them into the ground to just stop the animals have any chance of getting away or fighting back.

We are talking about China, a modern day superpower......... not tribes

I agree with the point that if we stop buying the fur they will stop producing it.

I do not accept the 'different culture' excuse, even we, with our intensive farming etc., try to reduce animal suffering.

It is not that they think they feel no pain. They are far from stupid, but the more they do, the more money they earn!!!
AND, Its because a warm body is easier and quicker to skin!!!

If you look at the cat nip toys, and 'real' furry animals in the shops, they are from china, from their fur trade.

It's torture.

but if we dont skin animals... where shall i get my furs from?!

No-one said well educated.

You certainly do provide arrogant opinions.

If you support skinning animals whilst alive, I'd rather not waste my time on you.

We don't require a Geography lesson either.

Stop being so patronising.

Go play elsewhere.

I actually posted DNFTT following a very stupid remark from McLovin.

Maybe indeed, but they do heighten the public awareness of this issue.

I agree it is incredibly wrong to inflict pain on another animal. However, I do not think that a petition in England will stop it happening, just look at the child labour scandals in, for example, China and India - despite all of the petitions, awareness and the laws it still goes on.
Stopping animals being skinned alive is something I agree with, I believe animals should leave a pain-free life, however I do not altogether agree with stopping the fur trade. Fur provides a very good natural warmth, it has been used for centuries to keep people warm and alive (in places such as Russia/Arctic etc), as does leather make a very good shoe - I see little difference in buying leather from fur and will continue to buy both if I see something I want to buy.

go skin some live animals if thats what turns you on

I think things like this are good to raise awareness, so people can make an informed decision to wear fur or not.

defo not right skinning animals alive if there are other means of warmth (ie clothes) as there are in most parts of the world...and even if the tribes are skinning them..... they shouldnt be doing it to them alove..a boit of blood is ok if u live in a tribe....so a heads up to all thise with wifi in their little tribes...cut it out!

lmao, what has that got to do with animals being skinned alive in a country still fairly primitive in cultures and tribes, forcing Western ideals on said cultures and England being a customer to their business/industrial economy, albeit a small customer?

I notice that England has been mentioned a couple of times.

Are we no longer the United Kingdom?

The petition is actually world wide, you can check out the resident countries of the people who have signed at the bottom of the link on my first post.

You can view the link, and sign the petition, without watching the video.

It may well have no effect on this barbaric cruelty, but it may heighten world awareness of their plight. It is a cruel world in which we live.

Alfonse is correct.
The demand for the fur is in the west, the only way some people can live is by doing stuff like this, (I DO NOT CONDONE THEIR ACTIONS) but that is the brutal truth.
And we are insignificant to China, and
"china supplies us with a hell of a lot of products mate which we cannot supply ourselves"
We could supply ourselves with exactly the same products that the Chinese do, for a bigger price and a better quality.
Now stop bullying Alfonse

Now stop bullying Alfonse

lol wtf

I reckon he stood up for himself quite well and enjoys a good debate actually,

nobody is stupid enough to think these petitions are going to stop the skinning of animals. However as many have said before you it helps raise awareness and that is paramount to decreasing the amount of fur that is bought etc.......

now your avvy, that's animal cruelty right there :whistling:
