Found 18th May 2014
Hello,

I pre-ordered the Elder Scrolls Online for PS4 and was just wondering if I could cancel this pre-order and have the deposit I paid returned as I have now bought it for PC.

yea just go in store with your pre order receipt
No they will not let you get a refund, you can only move it to another pre-order.

Seriously? If so that is a rip-off.

Exactly why I no longer shop in-store at GAME anymore.
they only let you have the refund back once the game is released
my local game let me just put my pre order deposit onto a gift card.

I would rather have the money I paid back Personally.

Everyone is talking rubbish, you take the pre order slip in at any time and they will refund the money onto a gift card, I guess you could ask for cash if you have a recipt showing you paid cash, but cant see them giving back cash to be honest.
I'm unsure how game can take your money and give it to you in card. If you buy the game you get 28 days to return it if it's unopened.
So this should be in the same share of returns.

I'd give them a call if I were you just to confirm how to cancel the order and get your money back. If they refuse ask to speak to a manager about it.
Does it state anywhere in the game store or online that its a non refundable deposit?

Na, deposit is no refundable. As others have said, you can have it moved to gift card or another pre order. Always better off pre ordering your games from another retailer to be fair, cheaper via Amazon usually.
