GAME to match any Trade-In Values Within 1 Mile

More of a heads up than anything;

Game have now caught up and are matching any trade in values from competitors within a 1 mile radius.

Thats HMV, Gamestation, CeX, Even ASDA!

All you need is the proof of value (Trade in quote receipt, for example) or some stores may even ring through to other stores to check.

Although Game's trade in prices are alright at the moment, this may come in handy

Gamestation will price match plus add £1

They'll just match the offer? They won't give you anything better?

COLD.

Rather trade in with any other retailer apart from game or game station!

Like the above comment really needs to be better than pricematch because whats the point?

Are Asdas prices available anywhere in advance?

they have always done this. i know as i make sure i get reciepts of other stores when i ask how much would they give me for the game before selling it at gamestation. One time i bought a game from gamestation, completed it and sold it back to them for profit, using the scheme mentioned.

1 mile? How generous. Another GAME fail.

To be fair, what would you expect? Game and their competitors are nearly … To be fair, what would you expect? Game and their competitors are nearly exclusively based in city centres or enormous shopping centres, ie. less than a mile apart. The deal isn't really worth the effort of doing some obscure 30-mile price match anyway.

Nearest shop within a mile of my local game, is get what! Another game! Epic fail.

this should be hot as everyone goes to game and dont say they dont. there are always a line of customers there. there trade in prices have always been crap, but now if they are matching within a mile and that includes cex. then its a hot hot deal.

Moved to MISC as it's a heads up rather than a deal and it was getting a bit chilly in deals (-49°) thanks

If you are happy with the price you are being offered from another retailer why would you detour to get the same price? Surely to grab your custom from a rival they have to offer more?

superb there a cex 200 yards away for me so old xbox 360 and 14 games here i come, or am i missing something with asda trade in?

sorry but i disagree cex do not always have enough cash in their till so will only offer you vouchers, for me trading in my xbox360 and 14 games i will now get cash from game at cex prices.

No you won't, in the opening post it says : so considering Game's cash prices are dire, you won't be better off unless you are looking for store credit at Game as opposed to Cex.

I've never traded in before but am planning to do so soon. So you go into a store, ask how much they'll give you for trading in (insert item here) and they'll print out a quote receipt for you rather than just telling you the price? Doesn't asking them to print out the price just scream out that you're going to go elsewhere?

Pretty much, yes. However Asda and Tesco won't print out a price quote, HMV can but are usually reluctant, Gamestation won't, neither will Argos nor Cex. If you have a smartphone in most cases you just bring up the company's trade-in page with prices eg Cex and this should be sufficient proof. Or if you don't have a smartphone, a good old fashioned print-out should suffice.

There's no point to this really unless you are getting Game to pricematch Cex or Argos because none of the other stores mentioned will usually answer the phones, let alone get a trade-in price and quote it over the phone. Plus Game stuff in-store is usually horrendously overpriced, I would have thought that credit at any other store would have been more favourable.
