I have purchased a wireless gaming chair for my grandson, but my son-in-law is saying it won't work as they aren't HDMI compatible - whatever that means!? Should I return it?

some more info on the chair may help.

Brand and model number perhaps?

Regrettably it was a special offer from Netto I think - my husband bought it a couple of weeks ago - and there is no make or model number on the box. However, since my son in law's comments, I notice Argos have added a note to their descriptions to say that their chairs aren't compatible, so I am trying to ascertain if this is a general problem with all chairs? Or if anyone can recommend a chair that is compatible and I'll take this one back...

Thanks for your response. Much appreciated.

Check to see what type Audio In/Out connections are on the gaming chair and on the TV to see if its compatible or not.

It may be that the chair just doesnt have an HDMI connector so wouldnt be HDMI compatible but it may be able to receive the sound via an alternative connector. (if not able to be used wirelessly of course).

Also, whats the wireless advantage if it does have HDMI, surely it would just be a wireless transmission to the chair and output via the speakers?

OP : Did you manage to get the model number of the chair?

Someone i know just bought one that isnt HDMI compatible but they use theirs perfectly via wireless connection.

Just to confirm, i have had a word with my friend and wireless chairs work with HDMI tvs/consoles.

So no need to panic

Hi Steve No make or model on the box. But others are saying as long as it's wireless, which it says it is, then it would connect via the wireless connection? Even those that say they are NOT HDMI compatible...

That's great. Thanks very much for your trouble. Will try it hopefully later today when my grandson is out. Fingers crossed. It would be a catastrophe if Santa were to cock up. Thanks again.

Hi Everyone - Just got this email from my daughter; my son-in-law has been trying to connect the chair via his wireless connection this afternoon "Can't get any sound from tv or ps3 but can from mp3 player. Won't even connect to psp. Product is a cyber rocker gaming chair and looking it up on internet looks like product code S707. Don't know what we are doing really but can definitely connect it to mp3 player with sound!!!"

If anyone can help we'd be very grateful.

I think that will be really useful, thanks. As someone was having similar problems last Christmas I think may be the HD thing could be a bit of a red herring. I will let you know if my son in law considers his probs to be related.
