GAMING DESKTOP PC ADVICE NEEDED PLEASE

Hi guys sorry to bother you all but I’m looking at getting a desktop gaming pc set up and haven’t a clue on what to get.

I am mainly looking to get one to play GTA and LSPDFR etc my sons would obviously also use it for fortnite etc but mainly used for gta

I would also need a full set up so screen gaming keyboard mouse etc don’t particularly want to spend a fortune but I’m also aware they are not cheap etc I just don’t want to purchase something and find it is not powerful enough for our needs etc

The only system I wouldn’t want is a dell as I’ve purchased a gaming laptop previously and hated it and was returned due to the amount of issues

So any help would be very grateful thanks for your time

Build yourself rather than getting prebuilt as you get more for your money
As already mentioned you are much better off building your own. That way you can futureproof alot more than buying a pc off the shelf.

So first question is would you be ok building one? We can all help you with sourcing components and building is fairly simple.

2nd thing to do is check out the specs required to run the games.

3rd we will want to know what resolution you'll be wanting to play in. 1080p means not spending a fortune, Also have you a monitor?
Would be nice knowing your budget

Thanks for your detailed response I’m very grateful

I’ve never built a pc before and personally wouldn’t have a clue where to start, but if it really is the better option then I suppose I can always look into it etc YouTube videos and tutorials etc

Specs required for GTA for instance is below

Recommended GTA 5 System Specifications
OS: Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit Service Pack 1.
Processor: Intel Core i5 3470 @ 3.2GHZ (4 CPUs) / AMD X8 FX-8350 @ 4GHZ (8 CPUs)
Memory: 8GB.
Video Card: NVIDIA GTX 660 2GB / AMD HD7870 2GB.
Sound Card: 100% DirectX 10 compatible.
HDD Space: 65GB.
DVD Drive.

Thirdly I don’t have a monitor so that’s another thing I’d need along with the gaming keyboard mouse etc etc resolution wise 4K would be awesome but if it’s a lot more money than 1080p then it’s something to think about.

Budget wise ideally £1-£1.5k not sure what I’ll get for that kind of amount, I can go higher but as it’s just for mainly for gta seems a bit OTT to spend silly amounts but if needs must then I will
Out of curiosity I’ve just seen this advert for sale online local to me second hand etc what do you think of the spec

Gigabyte RX570

Intel I5 7600k

32gb RGB T-Force DDR4 RAM

GameMAX RGB Water cooled AIO

GameMAX 500W RGB PSU

BRAIDED WHITE CABLES

Crucial 120GB SSD with Windows 10 activated

Hitachi 1TB HDD

ASUS Prime Z270 series OC

ROG open case
I'd avoid that build. Strange one to have all that memory but then have it powered by a piece of garbage.

Thank you for the confirmation I’ve told him I’ll leave it the hunt goes on
If you're going 4k i'm struggling to work out a build for you as my knowledge of 4k is very limited.

PSU for any build though

I am thinking an AMD Ryzen 5 3600x & RX 5700 XT for 4k. Perhaps someone can let the op know if thats a good pairing.
It doesn’t have to be 4K really happy with just 1080p I’m really not a serious gamer but would like to get something decent enough to play the few games I’d enjoy

No still so unsure on what to get

You haven't mentioned budget, if you want to go down the new route then get something from CCL, look at @sarden84 builds such as hotukdeals.com/dea…251

Alternatively get a second hand desktop from ITZoo and throw in an SSD and a low profile 1650 or 1050Ti GPU and your good to go.

Thanks for the help I mentioned the budget at the beginning looking at £1k-£1500 but what you have just linked is loads cheaper than I was expecting 😁 will it definitely be powerful enough for the games I listed ? Thanks again

Yeah it will be fine with games like GTA5, if you want to boost it a little more go for - cclonline.com/pc/…03/

That will be about twice as fast as the other PC I linked - feel free to also add an HDD if you need more storage.
