    Gaming PC build under £500

I am thinking of buying a gaming PC but don't know if it will be worth buying the parts and building it myself.

I have had a look at the Aria shop and have found these prices. Will this build be good for a decent gaming PC?

I already have a monitor, keyboard and mouse. I have a laptop hard drive and an ssd drive too which I can use in the new PC.

Just remembered, edited main post. Thanks.

I am taking out the hard drive from the list as I have a few laptop ones at home which I can put into the computer. Price below £500 again.

I have a Samsung EVO 250 ssd in my laptop. I can take that out and turn it in to a desktop drive I think.

Errr, that motherboard doesn't support DDR4 memory. That would be a big waste of £80. You need to look for 8GB of DDR3 1333mhz RAM. 1333 is the top clock you can use with that.

I'd also swap the FX8320 for a FX6300 and put that £25 towards an R9 280 which can be had for £140 roughly.

    Thanks for the advice.

I just found this site earlier and the prices were much cheaperer as they are from different stores.

It has been ages since I have built a pc so hope things haven't changed much. If it's cheap I would rather have a shop build it for me.

You're better off doing it yourself and sourcing the parts as cheaply as possible. It's still really easy, just like Lego!

Thanks for that. I want to play GTA 5 when it comes out. Hopefully the specs should be more than sufficient.

You'll be better off with an fx 6300 and changing your motherboard - 760 is old.

    No problem.

If you go for an AM3+ socket processor, this motherboard is good, especially for overclocking:

I concur with dannyboy92, an i5 and r9 290 combo is the way to go:

It seems to be quite a good source of information for different types of build, and is regularly updated with the latest components.
