    Garden party in the rain...help!!!

My friend is having a 40th birthday party for her husband next weekend. 50-60 guests - a bit too many for her house. Long range forecast not looking good.

Considered buying one of those party gazebos. Trouble is, due to unforseen car repairs she's absolutely skint at the moment, and the cost of food, drink etc is already fairly high so it's just not possible (even the £60 Wilko job is too much). I'd help, but I'm skint too!

Thought about erecting their massive caravan awning which is about 7mx3m, but not sure how to attach it to the house. And there won't be any men there to help due to the nature of the 'surprise'.

Any ideas whatsoever of anything we can do to try to avert a complete washout?

Might help if you said where you were.
Some local people might have something they could loan you.

I have a brand new 3m X 6m or is it 3m X 9m plastic gazeebo type thingy but I don't know where you are.

Maybe you could put an ad up in your local Freecycle asking for a loan of a gazebo or party tent over the weekend which you'll return in the same condition within x number of days.
