Just about to purchase the above Sat Nav for £149.99 + £5 delivery. After doing quite a bit of research it seems the best deal around but I haven't had any dealings with the company: pentagongps.co.uk just wondering if anyone could give me any feedback on the company, or even better if you know of a better deal!!

I have googled it but nothing back, the reason Ive chosen this Sat Nav is because of the extra features and good reviews!

Many Thanks for your time Penni

The price you have is similar to Amazon.co.uk price.

I was thinking of buying the nuvi 310 but read on the internet many people are complaining nuvi 310 gives voice instructions too early making you dependent on double checking the map on the screen before taking a turn.
For this reason only i'm planning to get the tomtom one instead.

I have a Garmin 660 and it's the best Sat Nav I've had. I've had no problems with Garmin.
It beats the Mio C710, Mio 269, TomTom510 and a few others.

For some reason placebo the nuvi 310 is coming up as £250 on amazon?

strange! it was around £160 last week

I was about to purchase it from Amazon, then the price went up. Checking on pricerunner revealed a couple of alternative sites that I've not heard of before, so did some research and plumped for one - can be got for £160.

Can you give us your opinion on the device, pros and cons?

Placebo - will do, as soon as it arrives - today, tomorrow hopefully.

I did just find this, after downloading some stuff from Garmin:

Ok - after my first few trips:

1. Download the new voice for British English, it's much clearer than the initial voice.

2. Maybe the announcements of turnings are a bit early, but as long as you look at the map and the distance to turning, I think this is fine.

3. You get 90 free days of speed-camera subscription. This has found the cameras close to home for me, and the usual location of mobile-cameras.

4. It got me to a tiny village in Norfolk, four hours' drive, with no problems.

5. It's not too good with tiny double roundabouts, but as long as you follow the map - it's good.

I really like it, especially with the Bluetooth link to my K800i - no need to look like a Borg now!

Thanks pyrrho for your feedback, much appreciated. rep added
