GCHQ does not breach human rights, judges rule

Bad news for those who wanted to subvert European Court of Human Rights and good news for those who have nothing to hide.

good news for those who have nothing to hide.

Just because someone has nothing to hide doesn't mean they should be happy to give up their privacy. I think Ben said it best.

Which matters more...the individual's right to spread hate or plan crimes or the vast number of individuals who are under that threat?

The "Nothing to hide" argument is not a valid excuse; it never has been.

Why...there have always been criminals who want to hide their crimes/plans...shouldnt their movements be monitored, shouldt the authorities know if someone intends to spread hate/plan a crime/threatens others?

Yup. You hit the nail on the head. Their movements and activities should be monitored. Not everyone's, which is what is happening. Everyone's activities are being recorded.

As stated about; Their movements etc should be monitored.
    Not those of everyone.

Who knows what the information could be used for later on.

Who knows who the criminals are without looking broadly at everyone?

You act on evidence and suspicion.
Innocent until proven guilty, not - guilty until proven guilty.

If there's no evidence or suspicion that some one is a criminal then they should be left alone; you don't take rights a liberties away from the majority so you can track a minority.

Maybe the OP would like to go back in time and live in a 1960s Communist Soviet country?

A prime example of how the Gov wants you to be, unfortunately for the OP on this occasion not everyone is suckered into the Gov 'fear' factory....

Read up on life under communism and that question likely becomes quite embarrassing for you.

We live in a democracy but that doesn't remove the need for an increase in law and order.
