George Foreman Toasties - The Future!

19
Found 26th Mar 2008
In a moment of boredom I used my George Foreman grill to make a toasted sandwich (ok I was drunk).
The results I have to admit, were phenomenal!
RIP, sandwich toaster machines - you have been obseleted.
Any ideas for fillings people???

I do this all the time. They are rather scrummy. Cheese and bacon is my favorite:)
Try some chopped peppers in with the cheese, very tasty.
get some marmite. cut some cheese. dice some onions. open a tin of beans.

1. spread marmite on the bread (optional)
2. put diced onions in the beans
3. layer the cheese on the bottom slices
4. pour the beans with onions directly onto the bottom slices IN the grill, making sure to not spill on the grill
5. layer the top slices covering the corners as you put it down to act as a vaccum to the beans.
6. Make another one, because its so tasty!

Will definately try that one later thanks.:)
I'm going to try this at lunchtime tomorrow - do you butter the outsides of the bread?
I usually put the butter on the inside of the sandwich. The george foreman is non stick so it doesn't need the butter outside the way toastie machines do.

I just did the inside like a normal sarnie.

There's some great recipes (?) on here. Hadn't even thought of doing a dessert!
God bless you George!
i use a little olive oil on the outside instead of butter/marg, drizzle a bit over the outside of the bread just before it goes in...it makes it light and crispy and generally fantastic.
