If you have an Echo or Dot and ask Alexa to order to an Add-on item, you don't have to pay the usual £20 minimum charge, and still get free post with prime

Just tried it and it worked although she wouldn't just sell me what was in my shopping cart, had to ask her to find it and then buy it, which she did
Was a £4 add on item that was sat in my cart waiting until I wanted something else, thanks OP

That's just plain naughty

Add-on
This item is available because of the Add-on programme
The Add-on programme allows Amazon to offer thousands of low-priced items that would be cost-prohibitive to dispatch on their own. These items are dispatched with qualifying orders of £20 or more, and are eligible for free delivery.

If you want to buy something that is an "add-on", you usually need to include it with other items in an order of total value of at least £20 which is fine if you want to order other things at the same time

However if you only want to order the one item, you can do so by using the voice ordering functionality of your Amazon Dot ...

Hope this makes things clearer

Thanks, yes you need to check your basket online

Brilliant thanks for the share

also, if you order a pre-order item, then cancel the pre-order item, you can keep the add-on item and get a full refund in the other product.

nice

I didn't think the £20 minimum applied to Prime customers...

this is well know, probably worth posting as I'm sure a few don't know but you don't "get a full refund" as you are never charged for the pre order item

This is handy!
