FIRST OF ALLTHIS SAVED ME OVERALL £285 BRILLIANT
pass plus is an extra driving test with the purpose of bringing insurance down, and is ideal for new and young drivers, could save up to 30% off insurance

it does cost £130 however you can reclaim half of that (£65) through your council
some councils offer this incentive to pay back half the £130 once you pass this pass plus. there is no test at the end just an extra 6 hours driving on more experianced routes such as motorways and at night

if doing this check with your council if they do give you half back as some dont
i did this payed 130 got 65 back and then it knocked £350 off my first years insurance
is a great deal for new drivers and would recomend to all

thanks

Great idea for great savings on car insurance for younger drivers, make sure your local authority authorise it though, and also check with your proposed insurers that it will actualy make a difference.

Thanks for that - and the OP. My local council is in that list - and my 17 yr old nephew took his first driving lesson today (its his 17th birthday aahhhh!!) so this is brilliant

Rep to OP and yourself Debjk:thumbsup:

mine is on there, been driving for 7 months now but no harm i guess

yeah your right - and I reckon this would be a hot deal too

This is great, I'm just starting to learn now anyways so super handy for knocking a few hundred off insurance.
Is this £130 everywhere? As my council is offering to pay £75 towards it.

have reported to ask if this can be moved to deals

Depends on council, some will pay the full amount, some wont pay anything.

Worth checking with your insurance as well, not only can you check if it will bring your premiums down but some insurance providers either demand it or help with cost

thought this was fairly common knowledge, aparently not

Nice, my county isnt on there, but thankfully neogiated with my mums disabiltity motors provider (mazda), and they will pay for all my pass plus, after i pass practical and give me free insurance on the car 2.0 Mazda 5 hehe, bit too big for a run around, hope the parents buy me somethign smaller hehe :P
