Anyone know the best place i get a good deal on a pair of these....

Worth checking out the Watchdog website as i remember these getting slaughtered on there for causing fires and serious burns to people using them.

missus has had every version swears by them

if you have a local Toni and Guy or Francesco Hair Group you can buy the new Mark 4's from them. Probably can buy them on the net but I've been caught out doing this and on this occasion bought from a local hair salon.

Hope that helps

ps they are great I couldn't live without them! Well I could but I'd be a hermit!!

I have actually seen a pair start sparking when in use - scared the life out of me, person using them, and person whos hair was being done.

Wouldnt have these if you paid me after seeing that

Well i dont think i will be going for a pair of these, somehow its not worth the risk. it is the first time ive heard of such problems to be honest. All the girls at work have them and say they are the best.

Can any one recommend any in that case which are just as good. ?

i ve had ghds for a few years now and never had a problem , but i seen the watchdog program like kelly_o_fanatic pointed out , the later models are fine i believe , older ones just dont leave plugged in at the wall:)

The Mark4 GHD's have been designed to elimate the problems previously mentioned. They have a safety cut out if they are inactive for more than 15 mins.

Get the mk4 GHD's from ASOS, it's a cracking deal. You'll never turn back.

Don't listen to the watchdog crap, all they do is dramatise things to instill unwarranted fear in consumers.

I have a pair of Babyliss Pro 230 and swear by them. My friend has GHDs and we both agree the Babyliss are just as good. Best bit.....they currently only cost £26.99 from Amazon. Read the reviews on Amazon - they all rate them as excellent and many compare them to GHD!
