Gift wrapping a car - any ideas????

My sister is buying her son his first car for christmas (only a cheap one!), I have said that I will look around for something to gift wrap it with. I am looking really just for a bow or something as it will have to be driven on the morning. Trouble is every where I've looked they are really expensive. Cheapest I have found is only 12 inches and is £15 on ebay. It's only a bow!! Really don't want to spend much more than £5.
Any ideas???

Do something special with the keys, may feel a prat having a wrapped car on the drive anyway.

fill it with balloons

Thanks for the ideas. He was going to have the keys wrapped up nicely anyway. I might put them in lots of boxs like pass the parcel.
Yes balloons will be good for my 2 LO's whe they get fed up with their new toys on christmas day!

Go to your local florist. I did for my daughter ,they did a wonderful bow type you get on a bouquet of flowers....Cost £5
Good luck

my brother bought a new car for my mums birthday, he put 2 hellium balloons trapped at the top of the front doors so they floated above. you could get happy xmas balloons. gook luck!

I would say that you don't have to do anything to the car, other than give it a good clean so it's gleaming on Christmas morning.

And just how lucky is he getting a car for Christmas?!

You could get a few metres of plain red fabric and make a nice big bow with that, instead of ribbon, and use it afterwards to make something.

I know, I've asked for one especailly as my cam belt went on mine yesterday. I've got to buy my own!!!

Thank you all so much for your help. Think I will try the florist first, if not might try my own and balloons inside

Rather than putting a bow on the car, why not just park it down the road a bit and then do a treasure hunt (will take a bit of planning though). Wrap the first clue up under the tree so lead to more clues and so on, with the second to last clue directing him to the keys and the last clue directing him to the car down the road, adds a bit of excitement to it all.
