You can't blame the company, there's a key word in that sentence....TEEN.

If you aren't going to educate them, that's what's going to happen.

changing the price wont matter ,if they want to drink they will drink. education at home about drugs and alcohol isna better way

I remember a couple years ago all the street drinkers in Wakefield were drinking this stuff from Iceland, it worked out about £3 for the equivalent alcohol content as a bottle of vodka.
something to be said for introducing minimum price per unit.

Ban the stuff, only alcoholics and children drink these kind of products

You would need to ban lots of other alcoholic products on that basis.

I used to drink it, wasn't too bad at all really.

Shame about the kid dying for sure, but there will always be cheap alcohol

Don't let them out that's what I say We were practically chained inside the house.

Banning cheap drink or rising the price won't stop anything. People will do what they want if the price was upped they'd pay more or but an alternative.

Let's change things because 1 persons dead.

    Do you not agree?

Well it is a bit of a moronic comment, isn't it?

You could be a fantastic parent, but your kid could grow up to be a **** and vice versa. Unless the parents were with her 24 hours a day then you cannot just label them poor parents because this happened.

Has her mum started a petition yet? Seems to be the thing to do nowadays when you don't agree with something.

High price to pay for some teenage hi jinks.

So is she saying had her daughter died from drinking decent gin or red wine she wouldn't be bothered?

I notice it just says 'tried Frosty Jack’s' and fails to mention how much of it she drank.

I absolutely agree with you and moreover show some sort of sympathy. No matter what the reason, one precious life is lost. A mother has lost her child. I am not saying that you should agree with her but atleast be sympathetic towards her.

Let's face it we've all done it, kids will always find the cheapest alcohol they can, I remember (fuzzily!) drinking all kinds of garbage because it was cheap and got you pi**ed quickly, QC sherry springs to mind! Terrible shame when someone dies and maybe we should all think 'there but for the grace of God go I' I'm not religious in any way but I'm sure you understand the point.

You're right but at 16 the parents are still responsible for the teen. As such needs to shoulder the blame.
People are going to do what they want but the parents are part of it.
Did her mum allow her to drink? Many do at that age. Did her mum know she came in drink that night? If she did she could have prevented her death. Did her mum raise her with the understanding of how alcohol can have lasting damaging affects? Could have helped prevent it.

Parents can cop out by saying yeah but they will do it anyway.

But she's lost a daughter which is a truly sad thing and I feel for her.

I think a 2 litre of strongbow on a Friday night in the school fields was all it took for me back in the day. Those were some good times, saw my first ever nipple.

How do we know she bought it? She's 16, she looks 16. I very much doubt she bought it or 'pocket money prices' have anything to do with it.

urban myth. there is no one bottle of cider that £3 (or any price) equated to a bottle of vodka equivalence.

just do the math abv means alcohol by volume so cheapest vodka abv 37% cider strongest by abv 7.5% so just multiply the abv by the quantity in the bottle and that's the amount of alcohol..

Yeah plenty of kids with decent parents in upper middle class families have still rebelled and got wasted at 16 with their friends.

It wasn't difficult for me and my mates to get strangers to buy us booze back when we were underage. I doubt there would have been much difference across the country and I doubt much has changed now.

No you can't but you can raise them well you can steer them in the right direction (I agree mainly may stray and go their own way) but you don't have to be part of the problem to many parents want to be their children's best mates and not parents nowadays.

As I don't know the mum or family I can't comment on these but as a whole. As I said she's lost a daughter I can't Maine anything worse so I feel for her.

My Mum and Dad are amazing people, so are their parents. Didn't stop me doing what my mates were doing though, as angry as they were, they had done it themselves, and so had their parents.

not an urban myth, UK 70cl bottle of vodka about 26 units about £10+

btw 'The teen died due to pulmonary aspiration, when the contents of the stomach flood the lung'.

so she basically dies of inhaling her own vomit it's kid like to get drunk. it's bad parenting to let this happen once she got home. this could have happen at christmas at christmas on sherry or anything else alcoholic so her mother was sadly stupid.

    sad but true.
