    Boy/Girl etiquette

Sod it, even old fashioned manners . . . still alive or everyone for themselves?

I'm an old fashioned guy, pulling out chairs, opening doors, trying to pay when out etc.

    What about the rest?

I live in London and have stood on trains/buses etc, heavily pregnant and no seat offered to me... and then just sometimes you get someone who you aren't even expecting it from to be so sweet and offer you a seat or open the door or pick something up for you etc... and I do admit to feeling a rush of gratitude for little acts like that... It just makes life more pleasant really.

Having said that I think it comes with the territory of greater equality, so I think it also appropriate for women to show openheartedness and kindness to men also.

Well my boyfriend is pretty good to old woman/pregnant woman and woman with babies, he holds doors open trys to help however her can........ but does nothing like that for me x

I normally do that but im on crutches atm so my girlfriend holds doors open for me

I was on a bus, long while ago now and a bunch of kids maybe my hubby's lil bro's age like 20, 21 got on and were rough housing one another, swearing, mucking around etc, and I was feeling a little frightened as it was late, coming home from work about 11pm ish. I was maybe 7 months pregnant, and one of the men came towards me, and then helped me down to a seat.... it was so sweet and kind. It sounds kinda... paternal but it wasn't at all, it was just a random act of kindness and one I've remembered since.

When I told my husband, he was like.. "seee, you can't judge people from appearances."

    He's right too.
