Given Negative feedback for a stupid reason

Hello, i sold a game on here about 2 months ago maybe, anyway i looked at my feedback to see i had negative rep because there was no booklet inside, this is nearly 2 months after he has bought the game. I had no PM off him or anything but just searched out the thread to see he did post in there about it last week but knowing how fast this forum is it probably dropped off the page within a few hours.

Anyway i was annoyed at this so decided to leave him negative rep, was i right in doing this??

I'd say no you shouldn't have. You should have pointed out before the sale that the item you sold wasn't complete.

I was sure there was a booklet inside when i sent the game, every game i have sold on here has been complete.

I agree, you deserve the Neg for not giving full information, the buyer has done nothing wrong and doesn't deserve the neg rep.

I am almost 100% sure there was a booklet, and if there wasnt why didnt he PM me when he recieved the game?

Almost isn't enough, if there's any possibility you didn't send it you have no right to leave him negative feedback. Granted, he should have contacted you first but he didn't.

Yes but it was 2 months ago how can i be sure if he has left it 2 months before complaining.

Obviously there is some blame on the seller for not enclosing the booklet/stating there wasn't a booklet but considering that the seller has high rep, we can safely assume that it was a mistake.

The buyer should have contacted the seller immediately, or if not then at least they should have made contact by private message as a forum message can easily be missed - the seller would have no reason to still be looking out for that thred after 2 months.

If I was the seller, I would have left the buyer a neg feedback on the grounds that the buyer was unreasonable by not making prompt/efficient contact to resolve the problem.
