Create a new Google account, transfer all of your stuff over to that one so as to free up space on the existing one.

delete the old stuff
delete the big stuff
Check your GDrive and delete
Add it to outlook and archive it into PST files.
Move large images / video to Photos, assuming you are OK with mild compression of images and / or limit of 1080p vid where both will then have zero subsequent impact on quota. Delete any hoaded rubbish (you know hoading is antisocial). Or pay the minimal fee per month to enjoy the benefits of having a contractual relationship with the provider, which makes it marginally less likely that the otherwise freebie service will be withdrawn / deleted at the whim of the provider.

Really need old/ big stuff

Definitely go for the contractual subscription if you "really need" the stuff, unless you have it backed-up in at least two other sources.
You could offload some of it to OneDrive to gain a few gigabytes. Otherwise you'll need to pay (100 GB storage is £15.99 a year on Google).
It's about £2 per month for 100 gb
Pay

Not quite sure what context you are refering to, but if you currently store images / vids on Google Drive then moving those images / vids to G Photo will release quota for what you describe as Gmail, unless you want the images / vids to be stored without alteration. G Photos is still within your Google account so its content will still be available to you if you trash multiple devices.
Regardless, if you are using a freebie Google account as sole storage for your data and have no other backup regime then that data is at risk of complete irretrievable loss if ever Google decides to bin the account or if your Google account is ever hijacked, where both of those scenarios are more likely to be recoverable if you have a contractual subscription with Google.
