My eldest is growing up, he has lost his first milk tooth *cry* . After spotting it being wobbly today, he has pulled it out, so the tooth fairy can come tonight!
So what is the going rate nowadays?

Number one son is 13 now but five years ago he presented me with a baby tooth and said, cut out the middleman, the toothfairy does not exist so just give me the quid.!!

Ahh all grown up.

my kids get a fiver-dont pitch it too high or they will be pulling out random teeth as a money making exercise!

Just put 5p under the pillow with a note about the credit crunch affecting the fairies

50p.....

£2 coin.

Nowadays , because the value of the pound is so low, and of course there is a credit crunch so no certainty of future earnings i'd say £20

I did that, hurt like holy ell, using string and the door slamming trick.

£1 - thats what I been giving my 7 year old for each one

I put a pound underneath the pillow. The first tooth was a two pound coin. It made me laugh as my friend has two boys and only today she told me that the tooth fairy doesnot come to her house as it is infact molar man!!!!!

About 1 million RBS shares.

Whatever is lying in your purse at the time. Explain that faries share out the money that they are given, and it depends on how many other teeth they have to pay for that night. The kids then never know how much they are getting any you won't get in a pickle:thumbsup:

How old is he?I know my kids got a pound, old fashioned rules say a piece … How old is he?I know my kids got a pound, old fashioned rules say a piece of silver!!!I do know kids who get £5 tho' - spoilt springs to mind (sorry barky, whatever your budget, I guess)Anyway, I soved the problem by dispelling the myth to my kids, No I'm not a meanie, it's just my kid kept trying to trick the tooth fairy, by not telling Mummy her tooth had come out, and she was so upset the Tooth Fairy hadn't visited, I had to explain why, and Yes this was after, telling her the "magic" only works if you tell Mummy/Daddy first!!!!She was nearly 9 at the time tho' so that's old enough to know, I reckon.

Totally agree a fiver too much

really?:?

We did £2 for the first tooth to go and £1 for any after.

I used to get £1 for each, remember getting £2 (but i had 2 teeth under my pillow :p)

All the kids I know get a £1 so I have tended to go with the majority.

However when my cat had her tooth out it cost me £135 and my daughter was very miffed that the vet paid more for the cat's tooth than the tooth fairy paid for hers!!!

Also if your tooth fairy is a bit on the **** side and forgets or needs reasons why there's a tooth fairy etc I found this site that was really useful. It's a free site but answered all the awkward questions kids ask!

i used to get a pound
until i got wise and decided i would put the tooth under my pillow WITHOUT telling my parents that my tooth had come out.
Guess who got f***all off the tooth fairy? :w00t:
Since then my mum n dad never bothered...well that and the fact that i was 30 at the time..could have been either of those 2 really

Just put a set of false teeth under there and tell him they multiply when they fall out your mouth. I promise that kids won't be in a rush to make money out of it then.

Or if you're not as mean as me then maybe £1.

Just realised, we shouldn't be discussing this here, there are probably quite a few members on here that still believe in the tooth fairy. :w00t:

And father Christmas.:santa:

And the easter bunny.

Just give them some coppers and if they moan rip all their teeth out.

I think you might be fibbing now.
Everyone knows the Easter bunny doesn't have, and doesn't need, any money.
Are you sure you're not getting him confused with the local drug dealer? :w00t:
