We are going to Haven, Devon Cliffs next week with our three children aged 3,6 and 12. We have a three bed, deluxe caravan near the complex as our youngest has Dravet's Syndrome, hoping this will be adequate! Hubby thinks it will be full of chavs but he has no choice as i booked it and i think a holiday is what you make it! Can you have any recommend where we can go, places to eat, activities? .

thanks

I've been there before and its fine. We are staying in Teignmouth in a fews weeks.

Good places are Diggerland, Crealy's Adventure Park, Trago Mills, Dartmouth National Park. Plus the beaches are gorgeous.

Just had a look at Crealy, they have an offer on that you buy one day ticket and visit for 7 days ... could be useful! Just going to check out the rides to see if there is something for the little one x

Not stayed at that park but have visited a few others. What I would advise is to call and see how much it would be to upgrade your caravan. At this time of year the evenings can still get pretty cold so it's best to have a caravn with heating in the rooms.

They sometimes do upgrades for £20 so if you could get this it would be well worth it.

I've been a couple of times. There used to be a nice steakhouse down the road in exmouth on the seafront but not sure if it's still there. We ate on site alot of the time as the food was good and not badly priced.

Visit Exeter Cathedral or Exeter Underground Passages. Crealy is perfect for your children at their age.

If you fancy something a little more quaint then visit Topsham for a nice stroll if the weather is nice.

Personally I really do not like Torquay/Torbay but I am sure there is plenty there to occupy your children such as seaside arcade etc.

Exmouth is loverly... I love walking down on the beach down there out of season, very nice looking accross the bay towards dawlish etc.

Diggerland is very expensive - pay to get in then to ride, also isnt the tidiest of places... - I know, in-laws stayed in the campsite next to it last year and it was a hole, and i have had many people complain about it when i have spoken to them!

Crealy is good but can get busy - aswell as full of 16 year olds messing around in the play area!

Trago is a good place to go, shop has stuff for the parents - aswell as cheap toys for kids, and the arcades/rides are reasonable value for money.....

most of the chav's visit devon cliffs in june/july!

You are right about Exmouth - it is a nice area which has not bowed to the High St shops. I am off there tomorrow for work.

The ferry goes from Starcross to Exmouth which is useful.

The indoor market is nice in exmouth, nice ice creams although my other half loves the Mr whippy with sauce down the end of the beach....

Thanks everyone, we had a great time. Got upgraded to a lovely caravan with a balcony right next to the complex which is where we wanted to be. Crealy turned out to be a great day and we ended up going twice. Would definitely recommend Devon Cliffs and i am very fussy!
