Going to Drayton Manor...What should I take?

The last time I went to a theme park was agesss ago! (like when I was 14 or something..)

But anyways, Im planning to go on monday but I'm wondering what would I need?

Surely I wouldn't be able to carry these things around or they'll fall out when I go on a ride?
(It's not like good ol'school where I could leave it with a teacher either!)

There's only two of us, sooo hmmmm what should i do guyz/girlz?

backpack and leave at side of ride like everyone else or see if they have lockers? Can you not go back out to car presuming that your driving/or can drive

there are usually lockers by the rides where you can keep things safe, but still dont take anything too valuable. lightweight waterproof/poncho and quick drying trousers are a must!

    from website......
We strongly recommend you use our storage facility as loose items cannot be taken onto the rides. This is situated at the Toy Shop in the Centre of the Park.

I can drive, I was thinking the same, but constantly going back to the car is a mission..
Just wondering if its worth taking my phone? or just leaving it in the car to be honest!

    Awesomee!!

Be careful with ya phone as most people have phones in pockets and forget when on the wet rides SO if you dont really need it then leave in car IMO...Have fun!

Umm, you should be fine with phone and wallet in your pockets, if you are worried about the phone getting wet you should just chuck it in a little plastic bag or something.

I never use lockers in theme parks, they can be a target for theft, and Drayton Manor does have theft sometimes.

Drayton Manor is a great theme park, not as good as Alton Towers but remember its all close together, so you are never too far from the car park. The food is very expensive and not too good, so consider taking something with you. If it is a nice day, you can have your food in many lovely areas in the park.

get onto their Facebook page and download the £19 Voucher

Burger and Chips will cost between £5-£7pp with a drink, otherwise, £1.60 from the machine for a coke. Have got loads to say about DM, but check out their FB page as I say, and ask anymore questions on here after.

Usually quite long, but seen as you are going in term time I can't see it being too busy (unlike it is usually). If you have paid online the pick up ticket machine is usually quiet.

Take a full blown picnic, the car parks are grassy so you can slob out for half an hour or so. You will probably need a break by then anyway. The food isn't good and can work out expensive.

I would say the longer you can stay the better as school groups and mums with small kids will not stop past 3-4pm

Re: the valuables, either do not take anything but your phone in your pocket as you willl not need much else anyway, leave it all in the car or put it in a bag and leave by the side of each ride as you get on. This will depend on how valuable the stuff is and whether you are willing to take the risk. Personally I'd just take a phone in a small plastic bag in a zipped pocket.

Go in light clothes with a change maybe in case you go on storm force 10 where you WILL get wet/very wet.

    Awesome!
I'm gonna leave my phone in the car, but awesome idea for my wallet!
    Thank Macgyver

Its worth buying tickets online as they are cheaper, £22 at the moment. Plus you don't have to queue as just pick up from guest services and then go straight in well worth it.

As others say take pack lunch. I have used lockers plenty of times and been fine.

Don't need to bring lot of money..food is rlly expensive && nasty too so u should just bring some packed lunch && at least £10 or more make sure you bring a backpack and keep your phones safe .!!

awesome thanks for the quick response

Hi OP, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Leicestershire schools finish on Friday, so there will be lots of school trip kids about. Monday will probably still be your best day as the trips run Tue, Wed, Thur from experience. Otherwise, follow the advice from the others.

I think that's discouraged when you're on the rollercoasters.

I know I'm late to the party but why are people still answering the OP's question some 4 odd years later?
