Don't know who told you that! All of your data will not be removed when uninstalling norton.

First off, just remove norton via the add and remove in windows to remove norton (all products of norton). After that, use ccleaner to remove left overs.

You could download yourself the norton removal tool which can be downloaded on the norton website.

it means data from the programme ie dates of scans virus found not YOUR DATA x

You should have all the data on your PC backed up on an external hard drive just in case you do lose all the data on your laptop (if it is stolen for example)

yes avast is best in my opinion any way just make sure you dont download the free trial and you download the free programme its an easy mistake to make but its an annoying one to make too lol

Norton is a rip off and slows down the computer.

Windows defender is good, I don't think you need avast, will just slow down your computer!
