Good news for FS forum: BACS Faster Payments

10
Found 12th May 2008
The Banking Industry via APACS has committed to launch the scheme in May 2008.

fastpayments.co.uk/faq…asp

Should mean Near Real Time/Same Day according to the guff. So a seller can get payment instantly and send items the same day. Rather than wait for normal 3-5 days.

Will the service be free is the question though.

Lol very true.
I can't see them charging too much, I'd be personally happy to pay up ~25p for a service like this.

Abbey's new system for this is goin in within the next month and will be free.
I wouldn't use my current account for anything, only people that know that account number is me and my bank everything else goes cash or credit card

The English have this really negative approach to B/T. I've never understood it. I think I'm right in saying that it is one of the main ways of conducting financial transactions in Europe.

Even Bank Staff don't seem to understand it correctly in my experience.

Strange indeed because as long as the seller/supplier is trusted it is incredibly user friendly.
