Good quality hair clipper for 1 year old son (Afro hair)

Posted 9th Apr
I need to barb my sons hair due to COVID 19 (barbers are shut). I would prefer advice based on experience of cutting kids hair..... reasonable budget pls as far as technology is concerned.

Thanks in advance

You won’t need specialist clippers for Afro Caribbean or children’s hair but Wahl are well known for being a good quality brand of clippers so perhaps look for some of those within your budget. Advice wise I’d recommend brushing your sons hair out with an Afro pick prior to cutting it, especially if you’re planning on taking length off, to ensure it’s an even length once you’ve washed and dried it. Good luck

I don’t know anything about Afro cuts or styles or barbering either way, but you’ll be hard pushed finding clippers etc if that’s what you need, hair clippers are the new toilet roll.

I had to go for a pair of Braun 6 in 1 beard trimmer / hairs clippers from Argos as they are perhaps not the immediate choice for most people and all other clipper variants were sold out.
I agree that Wahl clippers are great (I use them myself) but to be honest though any known brand like Braun or Remington will be fine, I've used Babyliss clippers before and they were good. Whatever you can get will be fine for a basic haircut especially if you just want to shave it short.

I’ve used wall, Remington and babyliss in the past. Wahl have been the best in terms of quality and durability. At the moment I have the wahl coloured trimmer, it does the job for thick hair so I assume it would be okay for afros.
I use Remington colour cut for my boys always get nice professional results have had wahl in the past also good
As someone else said if your taking off a lot of length its best to brush it out and cut it shorter first before you go in with the clippers
