guys i purchased a staffordshire bull terrior puppy 2wks ago from my brother, unfortunatley my hubbie is allergic to her at first i thought it was funny but he is constantly sneezing and coughing. we are having to keep her in the kitchen away from him and this is not fair on her. i have had to come to the conclusion we are going to have to get rid of her. i have never sold a dog before and was wondering the best place to advertise her.

Maybe try gumtree, although there will be websites especially for animals no doubt, worth a shot on there tho

i didnt know if i could but if i can that would be a start thanks

There is plenty of places, im currently trying to sell my staffy pups.

There is Epupz, friday ad, freeads, preloved, gumtree. Pets4homes is good as well.

try advertising in vets when i was looking for my pup it was the first place i looked
shop windows, or local paper might be a good idea to

You can also place an advert in your local vets. I sold my puppies through gumtree but I made sure that I visited the new owners to make sure they were suitable. There are some rogues out there that will purchase to sell on at a profit to anyone. Not fair on the puppy.

Before you advertise your dog for sale have you tried petal cleanse or similar products available from your vets or pet shop - they come in lotion or wipes and work by reducing the dander which is what causes the allergy. We use this on our bullmastiff, and it has worked with our son, who would sneeze & come out in hives whenever he'd been stroking him. We use it once a week, and i'm so glad theres stuff out there like this otherwise we would probably have had to rehome our Snoop, which i couldn't bare to do now, best of luck x

your doing it all wrong, sell the hubby and keep the dog lol

Are you 100% sure your hubby is allergic to the dog? Could his sneezing be anything else like...ahem... swine flu?

I agree, i am also allergic to dogs but recently my friend bought her dog to my house and i was ok. Her dog was very clean and bathed once a week ( i am not sure how good this is for the dog). Unfortunatley my allergies sometimes flare up when my immune system is a bit low so if i had the dog around all the time my body would be constantly fighting the allergy but everybody is different. Maybe try a bath (the dog) and some anti histamines (i have to take 180 mg daily). Good luck

As you bought it from your brother, would he not do the brotherly thing and take the dog back?

This is where we bought our Westie from
If you do advertise there use photos as alot of buyers skip past the adverts that dont include them

also check out the possibility that your Oh could simply have developed hayfever because Staffordshire Bull Terriers are very low allergy dogs as they only shed a little, a simple test at your GP's would confirm it.
