Good wireless booster for thick walled house on Sky BB

Hi guys

My mum was given an iPad Air from my Dad at Xmas time but can't seem to get a good reception in the back conservatory. She was on FaceTime with my uncle last night and the connection kept on dropping and eventually we had to just cancel the call

I've already installed the Sky booster box and placed this in the Kitchn and paired it with the router but the connection still dropped.

It's a detached house with only a ground floor but the walls are thick which is why we think the connection is bad when sitting in the back room

I've heard about plug in devices which can route the wifi through the mains, is this true and does it work? Any suggestions on which to use?

Thanks

I'm thinking these after looking about

amazon.co.uk/TP-…ter

Hmm maybe not as she needs it to be Wifi in the back room and these need a connection to the actual device (wired)

With thick walls its usually an old house where the mains may not be perfect with added spurs off spurs etc but if you are lucky and the wiring is decent these will do the job nicely and look on the "todayonly" page on scan for better prices

Yes the mains wifi ones do work better than an ordinary wifi extender. Try the TP-Link AV500.

those are no good as they don't have the wifi built in, you would need an extra one to do that.

Yep that's correct buddy, she needs the wifi built in thank you

ill see if I can get something from Anazon, was looking to get this done over the weekend

What do I need to look for, what does it need so it projects a wifi signal to her iPad?

And do I need 2 or just the 1?

Just run a cat5 cable from the router to another room then set up another router on a different password and Chanel number. Also consider putting upstairs as hight will give better coverage. Power adaptors work well if you don't need wifi. Wifi extenders will slow down your Internet speed which may be a problem.

at the router end you need one plug to give the powerlline network inter net access, and then for what you descibe you only need the access point one to give coverage for one area, the setup i linked two (both units)also gave you a spare, which for the price was essentially a free one.
