Sensibile, it helps you in the long run.

Pay your Dad back...............how do you think he would feel knowing you had the money and decided to spend it on something else when you are still in debt to him.....I know as a parent I would be dissapointed!!

    Pay dad.

Personally, I would enjoy it and treat myself to the new laptop!

Surprised you didn't ask op to buy you something???

If you "enjoy the money you earn" then you would not have had to borrow cash from your dad for a car . . .

    Pay your debt off

Maybe Dad should be asked his opinion ??

+1 - you owe him, so pay your debt to him off before buying any expensive luxuries like a laptop

PAY YOUR DAD WHAT YOU OWE HIM FIRST........before treating your self!

yeh ask your dad-if he was good enough to help you out he deserves to be asked if he needs it back before you spend.
although imo i would pay him back as i would like to get the laptop knowing i was debt free x

Always worth staying on good credit terms with the bank of mum and dad

Borrow some more money off your dad to buy a new laptop!

i honestly think if i bought the laptop i would feel guilty. my dad isnt fussed what i do, as long as i pay the money back each month that we agreed. i could do with a new laptop, and seen exactly what i want at a good price which is very tempting lol.

looks like dad is going to win though haha

Pay your debt off.. Your dad will trust you even more the next time you ask to borrow some money..

    This?

    spend it ffs (_;)

Ah, I think you should pay your Dad for the fact that it feels so great when you've paid off a debt!!!

I know my Dad wouldn't want me to pay him more than agreed, he thinks life's for living and money's for spending and I should be enjoying myself, as long as you always stick to the agreed amount don't feel guilty!!!

    Pay your dad back. x

What a load of crap. They have agreed a set repayment plan - the money is the OP's and she can do what she wishes with it. If I take out a bank loan, agree a monthly repayment amount and a number of months to repay over .... any extra money I end up with is MINE to do as I see fit. IF I see fit to overpay a debt to end it sooner (if allowed) then I will.

OP - do what YOU want. You've said your Dad is happy as long as he gets what was agreed & when.

Personally --- if I really needed a laptop I'd get one. Otherwise I'd stick it in a rainy day fund.

go on ladbrokes and start gambling!

Ahh, the old pay my dad back/buy a laptop debate

    Supermod

I would ALWAYS advise you pay your debts.

How much money do you have spare, and how much do you owe your dad?

Pay the debt, enjoy the laptop at a later date guilt free.
