no they cant, but i totally agree they should be sent home with a letter, the problem is theres a little girl now in my sons class who never brushes her hair let alone has it checked, and her mother aint no differe, but there is nothing the school can do, although i am getting to the stage i may approach the problem direct with the mother

yes, he has short hair, but quite alot of it, apart from giving him a skin head, which would not suit him, he is very pale skinned and slim, so a skinhead would make him look ill

    Carley;2949464

    Are you talking about men?

    she wishes :whistling:

And .... to make matters worse, schools can no longer give out free nit shampoo to kids. You can't win! My wife has to make sure she does not catch anything from the kids she teaches, but has done in the past despite her best efforts. If she brings any home, they wont find shelter on my head

i do my little girls head every night and she keeps getting them. now the health centre say just comb every night and in the morning. which i do but they still appear .the little girl that has them and spreads them has never even been sent home. so the situation can be addressed and you can see clusters of them on her head .as i thought the scools had to send children with nits home.

when my daughter was at nursery she played with a wee girl who had loads but i used a spray every morn from asda teatree and mint, she emptied the bottle down the sink and before i could get another she had caught them:x

i use lavendar oil, and only ever wash his hair on a friday, but comb it through with a nit comb every evening and morning, i dont haf feel sorry for the little girls that probably have this done to them with long hair, all because some parents cant be bothered

i think its much worse with thick hair
all boys have thin hair so they hardly get them
but with my daughters thick hair its hard to know if they are all gone!they seem to be but then a couple of weeks later she has them again.its a nightmare

thanks for the info, you cannot do that here, and i dont wish to have any treatments, i can deal with the problem without trweatments, i was something to prevent the problem

This thread has set me off scratching!!

Problem today is exactly the same as the problem was back when my eldest started school in the late 80's - same children having them and not getting it sorted out at home, vicious circle.

Parents like sassie etc. sort it out send children back to school and they got re-infected from ones that do nothing.
