    Gym in Nottingham

    Hi all,

Looking to join a gym to get a bit fitter.
I live near to Nottingham City centre so there are a few to choose from. Ideally need to be able to park for free too.

...But they all seem very expensive (a lot of the websites don't even list prices)!

I tried the pruhealth deal (through boots health), there is only one gym though them - virgin active - , averaged out over the year it would cost me over £38 a month all in.

Anybody know any decent offers in my area?

    many thanks!

cheers for that, but i really cant justify spending that amount at the moment!
Maybe £38 isn't all that bad then!

Was hoping to spend £30 maximum, think im in dreamland though

you can try tennis centre at university boulevard... 100 something for whole yr i think.. but the place wont be as good as the virgin...

Thanks, will take a look (although its kind of the wrong side of town, but not miles away)

    Rep given!

Check out Virgin Active doubt its far from £40

I was a member of Hoofers in the Victoria Centre for years until i moved away from the city centre. Would recommend them as they are open 24hrs. Not sure of current prices. Incidently car parking is cheaper/free in the Victoria Centre white car park whilst visiting the gym!

is there any council lesiure centres? they are normally cheap i think plus no tie ins, least that way if you dont keep it up you wont pay out for nothing. or even go for a run, press ups sit ups chair dips etc, plenty of free ways to keep fit again to check its not a phase. (look how many people you always see have gym equipment up for sale like brand new still as only used it once or twice lol )

yes, there is, that is my other option, think its about £35 a month, but obviously not quite as nice as virgin/hoofers/david loyd

Another possible option: the ]Sports and Gym facilities at NTU are open to the public on a pay as you go basis (£3 a session). Staff and Students however can join at £95.00 for the whole academic year, but that option isn't available to the public.
