If scottish food is so yum why did your family move?

Black pudding RAW !

To be honest I think we should try making a black pud in a haggis type recipe similar to turducken as I can't decide.

I moved alone, my mum is welsh!

Haggis is horrible, I can't remember what black pudding tastes like but I'd have to choose it to avoid the haggis, bleugh!
Unless you're talking about BB's dog Haggis, I'd like to give him a hug

It's similar to black pudding but spicier.
The ingredients are equally disgusting!

Only cause I'm in England and honestly believe black pudding lovers would prefer haggis if they only tried it

Saumagen all the way! Haggis is just a cheap imitation.

To be honest Saumagen sounds like the expensive version
en.wikipedia.org/wik…gen

"potatoes, carrots and pork"
None of that in Haggis!

both

Similar concept and contains a variety of meats (ie: heart, kidney, liver etc.. no lungs... they are way too chewy - the ones I have tried anyway).

Overall taste experience the Saumagen wins hands down.

Isn't White Pudding the Scots version of Black Pudding (without the blood)?

Raw Black Pudding or Cooked (with French Mustard) for me too.

White pudding is black pudding without thee blood. What's the point of that?

I like both but Black paudding jsut wins it for taste and the fact you can have it with every meal, haggis you only have for dinner???

Both.

I like them both for breakfast as well as dinner. (as part of a cholesterol controlled diet)

Nonsense!

Saumagen is a Cornish pastie without the pastry, ie Cornish pasty lite

If you haven't tasted a McSween's 16 portion big boy you haven't lived!!

Black pudding is very generic but there is many different haggis recipies and also like any thing like that different quality of ingredients so you may get one or two horrible haggis's and quite a few nice haggis's

I have never tried real butchers haggis really.

uh, you realise you are in the minority in the family being scottish lol.

oh, on topic,

blackpudding.

Never had haggis, just don't fancy it.

However tried both black and white pudding in Ireland and love it, shame its so unhealthy!

I recently had a lovely meal in a restaurant it was double cooked pork on a bed of black pudding mash, it was to die for, going to try and re-create it at home for a dinner party.

Both Black Pudding and White Pudding

Black pudding (or white pudding) for sure, yum yum in my tum

like haggis, like black pudding but fruit pudding beats them both.

I like black pudding but never ever tried Haggis , i thought a Haggis was an animal of some sort when i was younger , lol

Love both - but both have to be well cooked and crispy edges (I stick the haggis under the grill after its been cooked to crisp it up). Can't stand soggy black pudding - yuk.

i managed to convince someone at work it was, before she looked online X)

To be honest,

Both Black Pudding and Haggis can taste completely different depending where it is made.

I have tried both and loved them But tasted both and been disgusted by them so the question is not clear cut ...

All depends where / who is making them ...
