Hampers... Cheaper to buy or make myself?

Found 20th May 2010
Looking to get a chocolate and sweet hamper for a friend's birthday on Wednesday and have been looking online. Has anyone ever bought one/made one and know whether it'd be cheaper and better for me to make my own? I want it to contain retro sweets and chocolate so nothing that's hard to find! Only worry I have is that it won't look as professional, or I'll spend just as much on wrapping and buying everything separately that I would have saved time and money getting it ready made?!?! Thanks!

If it was cheaper to buy then nobody would sell them.

I'd make your own, get what they like in it, and make it more personal.

Much cheaper and more thoughtful to do your own.

Cheaper to make yourself, i used to make hampers, gift baskets etc (for mothers days birthdays etc)

When a lot of friends were having babies i found it cheaper to make my own nappy cakes than to buy them.

Make your own..... and don't put in half the crap they normally do!

Not true, you are paying for the convenience of having it made for you

If you make it yourself you can put exactly what you want in to it, spend the amount you want and make it look how you want it to look. Its more personal and will work out cheaper

its actually pretty easy to make a gift hamper look pro.
just get yourself some cheap bathroom wicker containers and some ribbon and you are flying.
