Hand Knitted Scarves?

My mum finds knitting relaxing but has really gone a bit overboard lately and we are inundated with scarves! They are really nice (very fashionable and lovely colours) and it is a shame to just have them laying about so I suggested that she sells some of them.

They are costing her about £5 each to make as she is using good quality "fashion wool". I was thinking of asking about £7 or £8 per scarf?

Any ideas of where I could sell them, eBay I would guess is the best place?

Thanks

boot sale?

craft fairs?

local school fetes for a pitch fee?

poundland sell scarfs

dont think you will get that much for them hon - averaging £2.99 - £4.99 on ebay

bling them up - beaded fringe or something - saying that it will add to cost of making them

lots of xmas fairs coming up could try there - or give them as prezzies

Yea, that is the problem. The wool she is using is quite expensive (for wool) so she needs to at least break even.

I might post some pictures up here or give them as little presents at Christmas!

you cant sell them here untill 7 days after this thread locked - oh and more than one wont be allowed - nor is 'profiteering' so i doubt it will work here

buy some cheaper wool?

Donate them to your local school if you have kids so that they can raise funds. It's a worthwhile cause and your kids will benefit.

I do this with all my unwanted xmas presents every year and they really appreciate it. Bit of a bummer when I win one back in the raffle or something!! lol I won some Kate Moss perfume this year and gave it to the school as it isn't my kind of scent. Made a very good raffle prize.

I should add that I don't have any kids but my neighbour's daughter takes it in for me as it is her local school although she has banned me from attending raffles as I end up winning so many! :-D Her gran also does lots of cross stitch pin cushions, bookmarks, sewing needle cases and lavender bags. Purely to help the school.

Decorate all the local snowmen at christmas:thumbsup:
