    Hard Drive to TV

I was lookig for a bit of help on how i can get the stuff on my external hard drive to watch on the TV?

Basically, i know there are the hard drive docking stations but dsont know if they can be connected to the TV - know you need normal har drives for them but happy to buy one/two to drag stuff from the normal USB external drive i have

The PC is no where near the TV so wanted to know how to basically get a hard drive plugged in to the TV to be able to watch whats on there

Hope that makes sense - cheers for any help!!

Didnt think it would be that simple!!
Need to check if the TV has a USB port - not sure it does

You could just buy a media centre.i've got WDTV and it is so useful, but you can get others.

    This one is only £19.99

The TV needs to be able to process the data on the HDD though...

Where as the DVD player has the software built in to read dir's and will then play the video file if in a supported format.

I hardly use this method now anyway as I tend to just stream from my PC to PS3.

Think there are a few ways to do it. I used to have a wire running from pc to tv and then basically used the tv as a second monitor. Now we just use the xbox as a media centre :-)

Have a look at the different models of WD TV and see if this is what you are after. I have WDTV Live Plus that gives various outputs to TV including HDMI. Loads you can do with it and very good info on media players in general (and WDTV) at AV Forums at the link below:
