    Harveys = Take youre money and dont come up with the goods!

    Placed an order for Pinnacle table and chairs in January. Estimated delivery was 12 weeks. when I phoned up customer services they said that I would have to wait for the stock to arrive as it had been delayed. He also let slip that it was effecting a few thousand customers. I then asked when the stock was due in, to which he repied April. He finished by saying that it was not confirmed yet and could be even longer. I contacted the store and they said they would contact me A.S.A.P.

    Is anyone else waitng on this furniture, and if so what have you been told.

    Only ever bought form them once, would never again. Very slow delivery and staff that couldn't give a toss.

    I hope the days of these store that take your money and then order form somewhere overseas are coming to an end (but I somehow doubt it)...

    Moral of the story - buy from a reputable retailer supplying decent furniture.

    Very unusual to take money for goods that are on order.

    My order was over £300. Times that by the amount off people in the same boat = a stack off cash gaining interest.

    Im going to try and get my money back I think, I didnt even want to buy a new table. Another bright idea that the other half came up with!

    Harveys have been going for a few years. It was the same when I ordered a suite off Furniture Village. The salesman told me the sofa could be broken down to fit in through my door. When it arrived it didnt and I had to take the fron window out to get it in. Needles to say I didnt go there for the table!

    Ordered a Sofa from them at the End of September, guaranteed delivery by Christmas. Then got an email saying I had missed the cut off date for Christmas by one day as all orders after 18th October would be delivered in Jan. Explained ordered 27th Sept, oh but store didn't put it through til 19th Oct so nothing you can do, explained money went out 27th Sept, oh but we can only start making your sofa when order reaches factory which was 19th Oct. I was not happy and they then said order was in process of being made so couldn't cancel. Eventually got sofa 13th Jan!!!

    Never been Ikea, they have been round a while so the furniture must be ok. Got me worried now!!!!!!!

    Sign any agreement? Deposit slip???

    Partial or full payment???

    Any piece of paper promising delivery by a specific date???

    I'd send a "without prejudice" letter with as much supporting correspondence as possible asking for a full refund within 14days quoting their vague promises and if necessary DTi/Trading Standards will investigate them for fraud.

    Under special instructions it says delivery approx 12 weeks. I had to pay in full. Im waiting for the store to get back to me. Im not holding my breath though. Thanks for the advice.

    The moment you hit 12weeks, ask for delivery date or you will cancel.

    The 12 weeks was up on monday. They gave me date in april but couldnt confirm this. They directed me to the store. Im waiting for the store to get back to me. Will bear that in mind.

    I'm having massive issues with harvey's right now aswell. We bought some sofa's just as after xmas and they were delivered last month....that evening we noticed that two sofa's were a different shade of brown. So we rang in and complained. They sent out some forms to fill in and asked us to provide pics...so we did (clearly shows the tow sofa's are a different shade). Just had a phone call from they saying they wont do anything as the batch numbers match what we ordered....its soo frustrating....so gonna be ringing them tonight to take it further!!!

    Without meaning to be harsh.

    I would point out with Harveys or whomever, get everything, EVERYTHING in writing, from the retailer and if possible, charge it to a credit card so as to benefit from £100+ coverage.

    And do not pay ANYTHING without a guaranteed delivery date.

    we paid by credit card....its jsut frustrating that the pictures clearly show the difference in the shade...

    I was told that if they dont deliver by April 14th I can have a refund. Have asked for that to be put in writing. With regards too the issue you are having on my paperwork it refers to shading on sofas and states that the shades maybe different. If you want to have a look I can post you the paperwork. I cant scan it as i havnt a scanner. Hope you get it sorted.
