dont do it unless you really like queues

    +1, nightmare

Haven't been in a while but it's really gone downhill compared to previous standards but all theme parks are busy during kids school holidays.

TBH, Chessington will probably be the least busy out of all the major theme parks but it might be worth avoiding weekends (because more parents can take their kids) so midweek is probably your best bet to avoid queues/crowds.

goin on a wednesday but takin 3 kids and hols are pretty much the only option so figured easter has to be better than summer!

been twice already this season, lucky enough (think lol) to live really close, was already quite busy, all of the parks are going to be horrendous during holidays so just be prepared to Q for everything.

Just got annual Merlin Passes - and will kick them off next week.

Gonna Do the London Eye, Madame Tusauds and London Aquarium, followed by one of the parks the week after. (Either Thorpe Park, Chessington or Lego.) I know the kids would prefer Legoland (but theyve not been to the other 2 parks - and I hate Legoland anyway - so they aint going there!!!)

Dont think Ive been to Thorpe Park Myself - so it may be that one - if not it will be Chessington.

he he he might see you there

Luckily, I dont have that problem.... I just push to the front of the queue! (In reality we get the equvalent to a fast pass - the only joy in having an autistic son!) Didn't know we were entitled to it at first - but using it in Disney and Universal in the couple of years we went was a godsend.

I'm taking 1/2 days on Tuesday and Wednesday for those. (Im an early starter - so the missus will meet me at Waterloo at 11.15.) Gotta make good use of those passes:p

well tbh as i said we live really close, having annual passes too means we go in quite alot, so we wont stand in the Q's if they are too bad, its no biggy if we dont manage to do everything in one day :-D

disappointing that they had not yet got the pirahnahs (sp?) in as yet when we went last saturday, the all you can eat pizza/pasta was a bargain with the 20% off with the passes tho

same here  we're supposed to be going to chessington on 11th/12th april (got family rooms booked at travelodge) just went to buy clubcard vouchers & you have to pay £9 in clubcard vouchers for 1 person  which is extortionate when you look at disabled childrens prices ( £13) and carers prices (£20) so i don't know what we're gonna do now :-(

I think you'll really enjoy Thorpe Park and your son will absolutely love the water rides, as the huge splash is a good start to the day.

The London Eye is entertaining the first time but I wouldn't recommend it more than once...and this is coming from someone that has been on it 3 times....very smart. lol

Madame Tussauds regularly goes through updates but it's not as fun as I previously remembered going as a kid, so it's important that you have good company.

The London Acquirium is actually quite disappointing in comparison to Sea Life centres but they're doing a major refurbishment, so checkout the dates it'll be completed, as some of the acquirium is closed off.
Make sure you all pluck up the courage to stroke the stingrays though...everyone loves that and try and take a pic of there faces, as it took me ages to get a decent pic. lol

BTW, I know you always get a deal on whatever you do, so how much did you end up getting your annual pass?

ahhh i doubt it then, shame, maybe someone has one so could look at the terms and conditions?

Ask at reception at travelodge if they have any vouchers if you need them, we were told at work to offer them, not sure if this is every lodge tho

Yeah, the Saw ride's there but I haven't been this year...I've been 3 times in the previous couple summers and we've always had a good time at Thorpe Park.
Definitely go on the Stealth, if you're man enough, you'll get an amazing rush as it twists towards the top and when it rushes down...despite it being the shortest ride ever, it's a great feeling.

Twists and turns are fine. Have to admit, the worst ride i think Ive been on was the "Big One". The drops and stuff are fine - but when its on the way back, the car isnt level - evel though you're going in a straight line. Felt pretty insecure! Love stuff like The Hulk.

merlin passes are from merlin website or use your tesco clubcard vouchers. its great to go and know its free - ish

i guess if there are two carers and two children that need carers you could do it as two seperate transactions. but are carers 1-1 anyway?

Yes. The offer was on last weekend. Two Adults, two Kids and one carer. Since the missus would always be with the kids on any visit, I was going to add her as a carer and flog the other adult pass at cost (£80). Probably too much hassle though, even though i did check out with "Helen at Chessington" this was all OK. (IN fact I did mention in the thread, we were going to do 3 kids (2 of which are disabled) 1 adult and 2 carers. They confirmed that was fine also.
