Scam

I think I got something similar quite a while ago and I copy and pasted it and sent it to paypal who confirmed this particular one was a scam so I suggest you do the same just to be on the safe side.

Dear ***** ********

We're changing our email address - please update your address book.

So that you continue to receive all the latest news, updates and exclusive offers from PayPal, we wanted to let you know that we're changing our email address from paypal@email.paypal.co.uk to paypal@info.paypal.co.uk

To make sure that you keep receiving important PayPal notifications, please update your address book or contact list with our new email address: paypal@info.paypal.co.uk

How do I know if an email is really from PayPal?

Emails from PayPal always only come from a paypal.co.uk address. We will also only address you by your first name and last name. You can report any suspicious emails to spoof@paypal.com

If you have any concerns about this email, please contact PayPal Customer Services.

Yours sincerely,

PayPal

I reckon it's genuine.

They aren't asking you to send them all your details or anything, just to update your email address book, which I'm pretty sure you don't have PayPal in there anyway!.

Either way, what difference does it make?

Log on to your paypal account by putting in the normal web address got to your account, if there are any messages they will be on paypal, that way you will know if they are genuine, the other one is more than likley a scam!

yep this is it.

The new email address is still @paypal.co.uk (or a subdomain of), so I too would say this is legitimate. If the time comes when they ask you to accept emails from something other than @paypal.com or @paypal.co.uk, then I would not pay any attention to it.

i got the same email as the one copied above,
assume it is legit, but I dont email them and if I did it would be through 'contacts' on the actual site, so didnt consider it anything to worry about.

its genuine, read it fully and you would understad why it is.
It is the same as mine telling you the new address and you dont have to do anything.
Its just to make sure their new mail when you get it does not go in the spam box.
You can confirm all this by going on ebay, then look at your account that way.:thumbsup::santa:

its funny cos on monday our paypal account was hacked by £15000 they had a whale of a time ordering they even added a new address where all stuff can be delivered payapal was quick to sort this out for us

I sent exactly the same email to PayPal and this was the response;

Paypal have an autoresponder set up so that every email you forward to spoof@ is spam or whatever. Complete waste of time sending anything to that address as it doesn't get read.

Funny their reply to me was this is genuine, I always check even though you can tell from how they send it to you if its real or not.
Especially if your pay pal name email address is different from your ebay details and your private details, which to stop fraud is the best thing to do.:thumbsup::santa:
