Definitely get a sky light. It’s around 800 quid extra but that light makes ur house feel larger and happier!
Nearly Every single extension iv ever been involved in has had velux Windows and customers said they are glad they'd chosen them for the extra light.
It always puzzles me why people opt for darkened windows on their cars. The body just has a positive response to more light and it's rarely a bad thing.

Provided you can get a through breeze to keep it cool in summer then go for as much glass area as you can afford.

Yes, there'll be one or two days in a year when it's boiling hot and there's no wind, but it'll be outweighed by far more numerous grey winter's days where you'll be glad of it.

They used to be bad in the early days but generally now if fitted properly are problem free for many years these days, it’s become as normal as fitting doors or windows.
Do folks find the noise from skylights with the rain hitting them rather loud or does this mean I should get the seals checked? Considering getting some put into bedrooms to allow for more light but slightly concerned the noise from the rain hitting the window will be too much. Many thanks!
