have just split the lip on my new bath

can anyone recommend a good product to glue/ hide the damage to my 3 week old 500 quid bath? I split it trying to get the bath faceboard back on (its a tight fit).

My missus is going to kill me (after she sees the leak in the hall ceiling from the toilet).

    Priceless...

    Some kind of enamel coating?

For some things - there is insurance?

My Waterpump for the central heating went, exactly 3 days after getting a new bath fitted. The guy that fitted the pump, managed to force the wooden panel (instead of easing) breaking a huge lump out the middle lip to the front. He tried to super glue it and thought no one would notice!

Annoyingly, the guy wasn't insured - and the replacement bath - was already an insurance claim anyway! We had to get in a "Bath Doctor" who managed to hide the defect.

Crazy how he did it though - the bath is exceptionally thick - about 6mm at the point he broke it! Wasn't amused!

Luckily - it wasn't me that broke it. Your pain will be worse! :w00t::w00t::w00t:

They are usually made of fibreglass, so you can use car filler with fibreglass sheets (from Halfords or similar). Do this from underneath of course, but can then use a car filler and a touch up brush on the outside. It wont be perfect, but it will work.

It's basically the same if you owned a Robin Reliant

Agreed. That's exactly how this guy repaired mine. (He used to be a car repairer - but realised there was a niche market out there!) There's always someone who manages to scratch or crack the bath. Just wished I knew about this beforehand. The damage to mine was initially cause by using a steamer (wallpaper type) to remove tiles to gain access to the shower. Little did I know that putting it down in the bath would completely remove the enamel coating. He could have fixed that - and I needed have had all this hassle!

might have a look to see if there is a bath doctor in my area, alongside a real doc for my bruises

bags! bags fix everything - tell her how special she is and offer to buy her a bag (or shoes as shoes are always good too) then when she asked what you've done at least she's expecting something to be wrong but has the shoes or bag to think about too therefore lessening the pain so she'll only beat you half as much!
