HD 4670 also motherboard Realtek HD sound problem

I am having a major problem, i've read around a few places that the latest radeon cards when fitted disable onboard audio, this happened to me, i have realtek HD audio and have tried disabling the hdmi drivers on the graphics card (in the hope of getting onboard sound to work - i know they are probably not related) i have tried reinstalling my drivers several times, i am getting code 10 'this device cannot start', i have tried going into sound and audio devices and trying to enable the onboard audio but it doesn't come up as an option to set it as the primary device, i have even tried going into bios and resetting audio settings to no avail, hoping anyone with a HD 4k series can help who has had the same issue?

thats crazy-ass, i'll have a close peruse and it sounds like that would be it, my brain is fired, i will rep you both soon

I have had the same problem myself. Just go to Device Manager, find the PCI Device that has no drivers, tell it to install from the folder you extracted the downloaded zip to - and everything should work. Something to do with SP3 and Realtek HD Audio, common problem but the fix is not so easy to find.

sorry to be a pain, i go into device manager, and i go into 'sound' it used to say realtek hd audio, now only says 'legacy audio' devices and a few otehr things...

Is the on-board sound enabled in the BIOS?

If something isn't installed correctly it should have an asterisk by it. Just tell it to install the drivers from the folder I mentioned above.

It may or may not be in the sound section.

if anyone else has this problem, go into BIOS, (F1 on boot) and select the onboard audio from 'auto' to 'enabled' this should get it to work as normal!
