    HD Player / PS3 / Options?

    Hi

I have just purchased this TV
    totaldigital.biz/ind…475

I have standard sky+ but not sky HD... I want to view HD programs or play blu-ray films to get the maximum enjoyment from the TV... what are my options? I also need some good speakers?

Any HUKD expert prepared to give me some advice? Thanks in advance...

Well youve got sky so thats the best it will look on your tv

If you want high def films you will have to buy a ps3 as thats the only way to buy current hd films - if buying that you will need a hdmi cable

Speakers wise id recommend getting some decent headphones - surround sound is good but i prefer to watch films with my headphones as you hear everything and it immerses you in the film

Plus with that television your gunna need to tweak the settings as i believe the factory settings dont look too great

someone recommends these settings on a forum

    Contrast 75%
    Brightness 46%
    Colour 56%
    Sharpness 50%
    Colour Balance Warm
    Colour Management On
    P-NR Off

Sounds a good idea... but.... How much will that cost me?

well depends on what you want to spend ,look at two examples ]here

I think both cost about £400 or so to build, the one on floor was my baby until the gf bought a new tv cabinet and you can see it won't fit in lol
Needless to say the cabinet stays and i have to build a new system in case that fits.
Both round about same spec thought the one in cabinet si not as pretty the case in the cabinet was somewhat cheaper and required less modification for ventilation etc.
kicks ass though especially on hi def movies off the hdd
As said with a bit of work it can be done cheaper, i have a twin tuner freeview card in mine that cost £50.00 and sky don't like PC setups so you would probably need diff tv kit
