    HD Tv - Help needed

    Banned
Hi everyone and I hope someone can shed some light on my request. I have a UMC 22" HD Ready tv with Freeview and dvd player. Now, what I would like to know is, can I pick up HD channels and how do I do it? In the instruction book (which is rubbish) there is only 1 mention about HD and to be honest is not of any use. I have a sneaky suspicion I will have to buy a HD Freeview box and use it via a HDMI cable. (I don't want Sky or anything like that as I can't afford it and the price will never justify it for me) I hope someone can help. Thanks in advance Kimosabe. Tonto01

Thanks very much. I did think that was the case. It does annoy me when you buy something that says 'HD Ready' and then the integrated freeview isn't! Grrrrr!

It is ready for HD.... ready for. Ready for you to attach an HD source. Freeview HD didn't exist when you bought the TV. What is your solution to that oh-so-minor issue?

bit like buying the tv and moaning it does not have a blu-ray player or xbox360
the fact its a 22" TV i wouldnt worry about HD anyway.

I'd have to disagree. My in-laws have got a 22" UMC - also with Freeview and DVD - and although it's intended for their bedroom, I brought it downstairs and hooked it up to their Sky+HD box to see how different SD and HD are. It is noticably different, even from a few metres distance.

I wouldn't go to any major cost to get HD, but it is worth it.

...makes me think that perhaps broadcasters have reduced the quality of their SD transmissions to make us all pay extra to go HD...
