HDMI to DVI cable (for iMac)

Found 24th Jul 2008
im looking to hook my new imac upto my HDTV and was told i'll need an Apple Mini DVI to DVI Adapter and then a HDMI-to-DVI Video Cable.

the first two i came across were these

but i was wondering (especially for the latter) can you get these cheaper or what?

Sure, get an adaptor like this: amazon.co.uk/HDM…8-1
There's loads on amazon/ebay I'm not sure about the quality of some but it's worth getting one with a known make perhaps?

Then any normal male-male hdmi cable. Works with my macbook pro perfectly.

MBP has a DVI out whereas MB & iMac have mini-DVI. Unfortunately you'll need the Apple cable and then can use any dvi-hdmi cable or convertor.

And make sure you get the right mini-dvi lead and don't believe other peoples descriptions.
