Hi all, I have just taken delivery of a Sony from JL through another HUKD posting and have connected up a 360 to it with a standard SCART lead. Do I need to use a HD SCART lead to get HD gaming pictures ?

You will need to get an hdmi cable ( so long as your 360 has an hdmi port on the back)

and on the zavvi.co.uk website (as an example) the prices range from £3.95 to £34.95 (!) for an official one - is this just microsoft taking advantage of our good nature, or are they worth the additional £31 ??

Glad you got the problem sorted, but just to be clear here, if your xbox doesn't have HDMI you could still purchase a component cable for it to have HD gaming... been using mine like that for around 3 years now... as long as your HDTV has component connections of course, but most do TBH, they are green, blue and red connectors as below.

I use a HD component cable, I got it for £5 second hand from a local game shop near me

(xbox manufactured in 2006)
