Just heard from a friend that works at Grainger Games, he's been told the company is going under and has been told to look for new work.

If only GAME would do the same.

Yea, would be great to totally remove all shops from the high street that specialise in a particular area, and just leave us with supermarkets and Amazon as the only places we can buy from

Shame.
Been trying to get hold of them for over a week now, sent me the PS4 version of AC origins after ordering Xbox one version. Anyone else having this problem?

No but I wouldn't send it back, they go under you're getting nothing.
Well it adds up with the stock selling cheaper than usual, thought they had just woken up to the competition but seems like it's too late for it to even be that.
I ordered from website on Friday night, just had email today item has been dispatched. It might only be certain shops
Sad news, as you always got decent games from there
Are they the ones who turned up at some gaming award ceremony and ruined everything?

I still get MCV delivered to me and I am sure I read it in there. MCV is terrible now in its new format and needs to cancelled.
Aren’t they the ones who are happy to label games as new and sealed when they are in fact neither?

Indeed

I mentioned this most recently on 13 January 2018:

I thought it was both.
I ordered GTA 4 complete edition and they only sent me the episode disc I complained and they said they had enclosed a pre paid stamp (in an email) to send it back to them for a refund nothing was attached. In fairness I can't complain about their practice first time dealing with them likely to be the last if this rumor is true.
ordered an hour ago and just received my dispatch email

you sure your mate isnt just crap at his job so they want rid

Just had this as to why my Switch order was cancelled:

"The company is in a crisis so we have had to cancel orders.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Many thanks,

Laura"

A response from Stuart Dinsey, MD, Intent Media (who was in charge of the event)

At last night's Games Media Awards, many friends and partners of Intent Media were, quite understandably, upset and offended by the behaviour of the event's headline sponsor, Grainger Games.

I'd like to take this opportunity to apologise wholeheartedly for this and to make it very clear that Grainger will not be welcome back in any capacity to the GMAs, or any Intent Media events.

I'd also like to give you a little background, without in any way ducking the fundamental point that, as event organiser, we take ultimate responsibility.

Grainger approached us a few months ago and explained that their intention, through association with the GMAs, was to get closer to the games media. What they have done, in spectacular fashion, is alienate the entire games media in one night. Good work, guys.

I'd especially like to apologise to the nominees and winners whose big night may have been soured; to our host, Greg Davies, who battled through manfully (and spoke for all of us, I think, when he told Grainger Games exactly what he thought of them); and to our sponsors, old and new, who year after year provide the funds and support to make the GMAs such a great event but who, last night, justifiably, were angry and horrified to find their names associated with such shoddy behaviour.

We have, as you might have guessed, received a number of complaints last night and this morning.

We have listened to every single one of them and accept all points made. And we're happy (well, maybe not 'happy', but certainly 'willing' and 'expecting') to hear more.

In fact, whilst I hate to sound like one of those pompous voiceovers that comes after a particularly harrowing episode of Eastenders, if you were affected by any of the incidents that took place, do feel free to get in touch with me directly, vent your spleen and get a heartfelt personal apology. My email is Stuart.Dinsey@intentmedia.co.uk.

What annoys me most, perhaps, is that the GMA team here at Intent Media, headed by Lisa Carter and Kathryn Humphrey, and our great friends at Indigo Pearl, lead brilliantly by Caroline Miller, put months of work and a whole lot of love into staging the Games Media Awards.

People really care who wins and are genuinely pleased for colleagues and even rivals when they get approbation from their peers. The GMAs are special. They celebrate talent from The Guardian and BBC to specialist media, blogs and cub writers.

Grainger Games' behaviour and attitude was the antithesis of what the GMAs are about. Next year we will give the event back to the media and work only with partners we know understand what the event is about.

I quite often feel terrible after the Games Media Awards. I'm sure a lot of you do as well. But this morning I just feel a bit embarrassed and extremely apologetic. I really do hope to see everyone who came last night back again next year. Well, nearly everyone.

Yours sincerely,

Stuart Dinsey

"...In January 2018 we secured long working capital facilities bucking the market trend to support our successful diversification strategy..."

In English; they messed-up the business in February & March.
The order I placed Friday was delivered today no problems, there website keeps getting updated and the shops are still doing trade in. I think this could just be rumours
Never bought anything from them
all my fault sorry.
I'm a little surprised to see them cancelling valid orders for in-stock items, apparently in connection with these reports - unless they're selling as loss-leaders, surely the sales would be to their benefit.

There's probably a complexity that I've overlooked.
I've pre-ordered the Ni No Kuni Collectors Edition and they taken my money but no emails or refund.

If you want to make sure that you get a copy, base still had stock last I checked, for just £5 more.

I've already paid for mine though. Plus with Far Cry 5 Father's edition, I can't afford another copy right now.
Also it seems Claire's is on the verge of going under.

My partner works in the white rose shopping centre and her pal that works at Claire's told her it's going down.

There was an article on BBC site the other day, the US side of things has gone pop much like Toys R Us.

Seems that I've had a refund for my order for CoD WWII, though no email contact from them. They're not responding to my queries about the two other open orders that I have, so I guess that a transaction query through my credit card company is going to have to be the way to go.

I also preordered this, it never showed - I emailed and messaged them and had 0 response except that my money was randomly refunded - absolutely furious not to have the game for release and have no advance warning of this.

Base thankfully are selling for 119 so £4 more so nbd moneywise - but am gutted not to have the game to play over the weekend
Was also one of the unfortunate ones to pre-order the Ni no Kuni kings edition from Grainger.
I paid by PayPal and have opened a case. If they subsequently go into administration would I not receive a refund?
Only wanted to now so as if I don't get my money back I can walk into their shop and take £115 worth of products off them(joke). Hey they have robbed me!

It's liquidation, if administration fails to save the business, that you'd need to be concerned about - but if you're going via PayPal, you should get buyer protection from PayPal rather than claiming directly against Grainger Gamers, so I'd expect you to get your refund.
