Headsup for nottingham but may affect other cities

The new fivers do not work in certain payment machines around nottingham. For instance the tram payment machines and at the parking INTU victoria shopping centre.
Updates to these machines will follow.

Readers told us they'd been having trouble using the polymer notes in ticket machines, so we decided to put it to the test.

And it certainly seems you'll have to wait to use those fivers in some payment machines around Nottingham - at least for now.

Buying a tram ticket with the new £5 is a no-no. The machine refuses to take the money, immediately spitting it back out.

And if you're parking at the intu Victoria Centre, you'll need to take some extra change with you, as the ticket machines also refuse to accept the fivers.

anyone want to lend me those £5 notes so I can help with the testing (_;)

Lol some of our machines won't take cash at all so I'm not too fussed about some of them not taking the new fivers lol
