Hi,
I do a bit of running and have a garmin forerunner 10 - however I am wanting to get something to monitor my heart rate. I do not want to spend a lot what do people recommend. I don't want anything that links to my iPhone as I do not take this when I go running.
Many thanks

I have the Fitbit charge hr which monitors your heart rate x

Same as lexi11 - I have the Fitbit Charge HR...

It's great - it tracks your steps, heart rate, distance walked, flights of stairs walked up, calories burned & it shows your sleep patterns too!

I would highly recommend it.

I wouldn't recommend the charge hr if you want one primarily to monitor your heart rate. They are wildly inaccurate.
We have 2 in the house, if you wear one on each wrist they can be about 30bpm different. Now I'm no doctor but I'm pretty sure that your heart rate should be the same no matter where you take it from.

Just use any random heart rate monitor in the app store. Same accuracy

I've been looking recently for the same myself recently. Have a rook at techradar website - it has reviews for all the devices.
As said above, Charge HR is apparently inaccurate, but as the reviewers sey, it's consistently inaccurate so you will be able to monitor progress. Have a look at the Garmin Vivosmart HR.
I've not bought one yet but have found the above website quite helpful.

I use a Tomtom cardio and Mio Fuse but if you wanta cheap then get the aldi gps bluetooth HRM watch , it comes with a bluetooth HRM strap which will pair with your handset f you decide to pair phone-based apps. read about it here

I use a Xiaomi Mi Band 1S and it's pretty good for ~£12. I don't know if it's accurate but I know if I wear one on each wrist they are within 1-2bpm of each other.

I have the Polar H7 amazon.co.uk/Pol…8F4 but pretty sure it doesn't cache data when no phone is present
i found the results nearly identical to the apple watch during a spin class
what's your reason behind not taking the phone? how do you track runs? I predominantly take mine so runkeeper can log it - distance, speed, splits etc. and some tunes to keep me occupied during the run too!
