Last time I flew from Heathrow, I extended my holiday by 1 day and stayed a night in the Renaissance Hotel. Rates start from £95 a night for a couple, but includes up to 15 nights free parking, and bus transfers to the terminal leave every 15 minutes are £5

have you used purple parking? or has anyone?

Yep - used them several times. They're a well-established reputable company and we have had no problems with them. Our car broke down last time we were there and they looked after us well while we waited for the AA. Obviously, park and ride isn't quite as convenient as parking in the airport itself but the Purple Parking site is only a few minutes drive from airport and buses run to and fro frequently. We've never had to wait long for collection - just phone them as soon as you land so that by the time you've got your bags etc., the bus will be there to pick you up.
We've always preferred to save money by parking off site but if your time is precious, then perhaps you'd be better parking at the airport.

I've used the meet and greet service approx 5 times and am just about to book again. You give them the time you are arriving, arrive hand over your keys outside the arrival doors, then when you land back in Heathrow you ring them when you have collected your luggage and when you get outside the doors your car is waiting for you all warm and ready to leave
