    Heathrow Business early morning....?

RIght - so my flight is at 7.55am tomorrow (T5) domestic. I am travelling from Portsmouth, normally takes about 1hr30 according to Google Maps.

Just wondering what the traffic on the M25 was like at around 6am? Or am i wise leaving even earlier?

so flight is 7.55 - so boarding wil be 7.25 or thereabouts

so to allow for security etc you need minimum 30 mins from walking into the terminal

so to be safe you want to be walking in at 6.45 really - especially if you are not familiar with T5

then you need time to park car - don't know Heathrow so not sure how much time to add

1 hour 30 should be fine to LHR and the traffic on M25 is not so bad at this time (I have driven to Channel Tunnel at this time)

therefore if you left Portsmouth at 5am you "should" be OK - therefore leave at least 30 mins earlier to be sure

I woudl leave near to 4am to be sure - better to relax with a coffee airside than to miss the flight by minutes because of traffic / finding parking space / slow security queues etc

With this sort of thing better to arrive earlier than you think as you never know whats going to happen on the roads etc also if your flying to france or over be aware of possible delays as they just about to start a 6 day strike

Thanks - i think i will leave around 4am - have to deal with Purple Parking too, so there is always scope for delay there...

Yes, unless they've opened a new Purple Parking closer to T5 since I last used them there's scope for possible 30 minutes delays getting parked and waiting for the PP minibus to fill up and set off.

Its the Purple Parking Business one - so not sure??? Never normally fly out of heathrow. Normally gatwick or southampton.

purple parking buss is much closer than there std one its on the perimeter road 2 mins or so from hatton cross so not far at all
but you can never tell what traffics like round lhr plus its close but you may have to wait for your transfer as already siad better to get there early and relax

There's also roadworks on the perimeter road from Beacon Roundabout up to T5 down to 1 lane if you are in the one by hatton cross. Flew from T5 last year and can be quite a long walk and have to use the shuttle for certain flights. Looked like you may be at the one on the Bath Road so would allow a bit of extra time.
